    Who we are:
Formed in 2006, Rays of Hope Inc. is a small, family-run,  non-profit in Eubank, KY. We are a NO-KILL shelter and we are family owned and operated, meaning we do not have outside assistance or hired help. The shelter has become our daily job, with the unique care of every animal making this a 24/7 job for me and my family.
Rays of Hope Inc. Cat Sanctuary is an approved 501(c)3 non-profit organization
whose mission is to rescue and rehabilitate abandoned and homeless cats. Those we cannot find suitable forever homes for are allowed to live out their lives here at the shelter.
They are given room to roam and play during the day and housed in large indoor kennel spaces during the night for their own safety. All Animals are monitored daily.
    Located in a rural area,
we rarely get local support and are 0% government funded.
ALL donations come from private individuals via eBay or direct contact with us.
The internet is our MAIN SOURCE OF FUNDING
    for shelter needs.
Why do we have so many cats?
Rays of Hope Inc. was founded in a small, rural part of Pulaski county. There are farms surrounding the shelter on all sides and a dead-end road. Because of this, we have become the victim of a massive amount of anonymous "drop-offs" and purposeful abandonment by pet owners who have decided to discard their cats inhumanely. Without our support, most of these cats would starve to death or be killed by coyotes and other wildlife.
Many of the cats we have are special-needs seniors. This makes it very difficult to find them new forever homes. Their medical care is much higher than average due to medications and special supplements they require to stay alive/comfortable.
    Gabby
is FIV, while the disease IS manageable, it requires close observation and a special diet. When he first arrived, he was terrible skinny, malnourished, and had severe scratches and wounds from fighting with other animals in the wild. At first, it was recommended we put him to sleep because of his "disease" but after excruciating research, we learned that his condition CAN in fact be managed and he CAN live a healthy and safe life around other animals.
He has been nursed back to health and is now living a comfortable life here at our shelter.
We now also have Tucker he is pictured at the top/ the grey and white tabby.
He is also FIV positive. We are hoping to give him a good life here as well.
    Timmy
has only 3 feet! He was found caught in a tree near the shelter after being chased by neighborhood dogs. He is a sweetheart and a trooper who never lets his "disability" disable him! He currently is struggling with on and off urinary crystals and infections. We are constantly monitoring his diet and water intake, as well as having his urine checked to keep an eye on his condition.
    Mr. T.
was abandoned by his owner and left with a collar almost strangling him because it was too tight and digging into his flesh. It took us several days to get him him to allow us to approach him and cut off the collar with scissors. We discovered he was owned by another person on our street, so we contacted them and let them know their cat was safe with us before we released him to go home.
He came back to us with a broken tail and we tried once again only learn the owner had MOVED away and abandoning him permanently!
Mr. T has recently been diagnosed with renal failure and now requires special diet and Fluids given to him by injection every day.
