My name is Angie, I have been an Ostomates since 2000. I do understand how cost can get in the way of proper ostomy care. I spent many days/weeks having to make do with supplies that I had because I could not afford what I needed.
I started this Ebay with some donated ostomy supplies. Really didn't grasp that so many people fall into the hardships of having no money for supplies and those with insurance but the cost is still most than they can handle.
Once my eyes were opening to knowing I wasn't the only one I couldn't turn back. Of course I am financially strapped so I decided I would take the money I made on the donations and reinvested it into buy more ostomy supplies at the lowest cost possible. I began searching for others with ostomies that no longer needed thier supplies; from over buying, to changing systems, to reversals and sadly, those that are no longer with us.
Every dollar spent here on Ostomates R us goes back into buying more supplies at lowest cost I can find. Each item is priced to regain the funds spent on resourcing, buying supplies, having bulk supplies shipped to me, to Ebay fees, shipping out fees and all that goes into getting the products to others. I also do donations to those in my community or that I find online that are in need.
When I recieve products I individually hand sort and inspect every item. I then disinfect to the best of my ability. If I need then I will seperate products and seal into sets to protect during storage.
Please know that, although I am one person, I do all I can to check the quality of products that I list and I also do all I can to sanitize incoming products. These are bought from individual patients, this is how I can price them low and except offers.
